With the goal of eliminating textile waste, I start by rescuing fabrics from fashion companies which would have otherwise gone to landfill or incinerator. I then slowly transform them, some are dyed with natural dyes, and gradually I work them into textile art pieces. By finding a use for all of my scraps in a zero-waste process, I'm capturing the value of the raw material and helping prevent more materials from ending up in our endlessly-growing landfills or incinerators. Compared to the massive global textile waste problem, the amount of textiles I'm diverting is small, but I passionately strive to prove that artists and designers of any size can and should be a vital part of the circular economy where no materials are wasted.
